Renalfa Hydrogen emerges as a natural progression of Renalfa's extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. Building upon our expertise in wind, solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS), Renalfa Hydrogen represents the culmination of our green energy development portfolio. The company has established a dedicated business unit focused on green hydrogen, with aspirations to lead in this transformative technology. We aim to address the technological challenges associated with producing and supplying green hydrogen from clean energy sources while ensuring competitiveness in the market.

Key to our strategy is the development of four environmentally sustainable green hydrogen production plants with a total electrolysis capacity of 400 MWe, distributed across strategic locations in Bulgaria. These plants will utilize electrolysis, a process that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using an electric current derived from renewable sources. Each plant is designed to produce 43 tons of hydrogen per day and will incorporate cutting-edge technologies for optimal efficiency.
Renalfa Hydrogen's ambitions extend beyond mere business success. We aim to drive decarbonization efforts by promoting hydrogen as a clean energy option, aligning with global initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, scaling up hydrogen production is seen as a means to achieve significant cost reductions and foster the growth of Bulgaria's energy ecosystem, in line with EU directives and market trends.
