Renalfa Solarpro Group GmbH has been founded by Ivo Prokopiev, Konstantin Nenov and Ivan Nenkov - all three of them serial entrepreneurs with more than 30 years of experience in starting businesses, investing, financing, growth and exits.

Since 2007, via the establishment of Solarpro, the group gradually re-focused its capital allocation and management efforts on clean energy and electrical mobility. Trough in subsidiaries it has activity in most of the EU countries. It is now one of the leading clean energy investors in Eastern Europe, with significant experience and scale. Renalfa Solarpro Group has more than 1550 employees.

Ivo Prokopiev
Founder, Chairman and CEO

Mr. Prokopiev is a successful entrepreneur and investor with more than 30-year experience in independent journalism, corporate finance, telecoms, real estate, digital technologies, clean energy and many others. Recently, Renalfa, co-founded by Mr. Prokopiev, have played a leading role in developing clean energy and electrical mobility in SEE. Over the past three decades, as representative of the business and employers, Mr. Prokopiev has been involved in a number of key reforms in Bulgaria like currency board introduction, media self-regulation, pension reform, business representation and others. He has a Masters degree in Finance from Sofia Economic University and Executive MBA from INSEAD.

Konstantin Nenov
Co-founder and managing director

Mr. Nenov is one of the leading Bulgarian industrialists and investors with over 25-year experience in banking, industrial minerals and renewable energy. Under his leadership, the small Bulgarian company Kaolin, between 2000 and 2013 was converted into a regional leader in industrial minerals for the ceramic and glass industry in Eastern Europe. After the successful exit of Kaolin in 2013, Mr. Nenov is a Managing partner of Solarpro, the leading integrated solar company in Eastern Europe. He has a Masters degree in Mobility from Sofia Economic University.

Ivan Nenkov
Co-founder and member of the BoD

Mr. Nenkov is one of the most internationally recognized Bulgarian investment bankers. He has over 25 years experience in investment banking, commercial banking and asset management. In his career, Mr. Nenkov has been personally involved in over 100 M&A; transactions with a deal value of over 3 billion euro, including some of the most important Bulgarian companies in telecom, banking and energy sectors. He has a Masters degree in International Economic Relations from Sofia Economic University.

Yuri Katanov
Managing Director

Yuri Katanov CFA, is one of the most profound and experienced professionals in the field of corporate finance, financial analysis and counseling in the SEE region with more than 18 years experience. He has participated in structuring and executing some of the largest M&A; transactions in Bulgaria, including real estate ones. He has experience in the field of investment, finance, Renewables and clean energy, asset management and electric mobility. He has a Bachelors degree in Tourism form Sofia Economic University, he is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a licensed Investment Consultant by the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission.

Stefan Spassov
CEO of Eldrive Holding and CFO of SPARK Technologies

Stefan Spassov is the CEO of Eldrive Holding and CFO of SPARK Technologies. He leads and manages the expansion of the public EV charging infrastructure operator Eldrive in Bulgaria, Romania and Linthuania and is a part of the top management team of the leading electric 100% electric car sharing service SPARK. Stefan holds a MBA degree from HULT University, London. Mr. Spassov has substantial experience in the origination, management and execution of mergers and acquisitions and is specialized in corporate finance and business development. He has previously been actively involved in the telematics business and negotiated, consulted and led the successful acquisition of EuroGPS (now Viasat Technology) by the European leader in usage-based-insurance Viasat Group

Diana Konova
Chief Legal, Compliance and Administration Officer

Diana Konova has 20 years of practice in the sphere of law. Her professional experience entails independent lawyer’s practice with the Sofia BAR; management positions as chief legal, compliance and organizational officer in regulated financial institutions, including asset management company, as well as in public institutions – direct EU beneficiaries for strategic infrastructure projects in Bulgaria. Since 2017 has been a member of the Supervisory Board of a banking institution operating in North Macedonia. Diana’s main areas of expertise include corporate and contracts law, property and construction law, public procurement, regulatory compliance of private financial institutions and public entities, M&A transactions in the energy sector. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from Sofia University and has specialized courses in FIDIC, CBA and public procurement.

Krasen Mateev
Managing Director Solarpro Holding

In 11+ years in the field of renewable energy, Krasen gained significant experience in technical operations and R&D, as well as on the managerial level. He commenced his career at Motto Engineering Ltd. with a focus on technical design of RES projects. Since 2016 he has been the Executive Director of the Institute of Clean Technologies, which aids the progression of clean energy technologies and solutions. He has been Managing Director of Solarpro Holding JSC since 2014, spearheading improvements in operational efficiency and the preparation of innovation strategy for selected business lines – PV Systems, Energy Storage Systems and eMobility. Krasen has two Master’s degrees – Master of Electrical Engineering from Technical University of Sofia and Master of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Finances from VUZF University, Sofia.

Lidia Shuleva
Chair of the BoD, Renalfa Hydrogen

Lidia Shouleva is a business and financial consultant with over 30 years of experience. She is a founder and managing partner of Business Intellect Ltd. As CEO of Albena Invest Holding from 1995 to 2001, she managed 25 affiliate companies from various branches of the economy. From 2001 to 2009 she is Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Minister of Economy, and Member of the European and Bulgarian Parliaments. From 2010 to 2016 – a Council Member of the United Nations University, Japan From 2009 to now Lydia Shouleva has worked as a consultant, mentor, and coach. As a consultant for private investors work out overviews of the current political and business environment and the legal framework; develop necessary networks and provide support in realizing their investment projects. Lydia Shouleva holds master's degrees in electronics and finance and numerous specializations in the country and abroad. Specializes in Leadership Development at Harvard Kennedy School, USA, and Executive coaching at College of Executive Coach, California, USA.

Nick Antonov
Director, Vienna

Dr. Nick Antonov is a senior manager with 40 years of experience working for global multinational companies, including Reuters and Dow Jones. He has unique expertise in the field of risk, reputation and issue management. Dr. Antonov interests are in the field of media, information and big data based research. He worked in Vienna, London, Geneva, New York, Greece, Turkey, Russia and the CIS, South-East Europe. As director and manager, he set up and trained a pan-European sales and marketing team, negotiated deals with key customers, developed tele-sales, tele-marketing, tele-customer support, credit control projects, product development projects; led acquisition efforts across Europe.

Adelin Antonov
Managing Director, Solarpro Technology

With over two decades of experience in the energy sector across Bulgaria and Eastern Europe, Mr. Adelin Antonov specializes in PV projects, Storage Systems, and regional energy markets. He has managed the installation of over 3 GW of capacity, as well as demonstrated significant expertise in the operation and maintenance of energy projects. As a CEO of Solarpro Technology, Mr. Antonov is dedicated to developing innovative solutions and new products in the energy industry. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Georgi Pulev
Group CFO

Georgi Pulev has sufficient experience in the field of business administration and financial controlling as a CEO, CFO and Administration Director in "Chipita foods Bulgaria" and Audit Manager of KPMG Bulgaria. Mr. Pulev holds a bachelors degree of "Business administration" from American university in Bulgaria. From 2007 he is part of the management team and CFO of the Group and in Renalfa. He is a member of ACCA.

Kalina Pelovska
Chief Investment Officer

Senior financial manager with 20 years experience in investment management, financial advisory, bank financing and loan restructuring. Main areas of expertise include structuring and financing for conventional and renewable power projects, real estate and public infrastructure. Kalina holds an MA in International Relations from the Central European University (Hungary) and a Diploma in International Economics from the Bologna Center of Johns Hopkins University.

Mariyan Yanakiev
CFO Renalfa IPP

Mariyan has 17+ years of experience in the fields of corporate finance, investment banking, financial advisory and business process outsourcing. He has participated and executed numerous sizable M&A transactions in CEE and has a large track record of leading process improvement and optimization projects. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute (CFA). Mariyan holds a degree in Business Administration from Saint Anselm College in the USA.

Christo Vanev
Director Business Development

A highly experienced professional in the field of M&A advisory services, corporate finance, business development, project management and co-ordination, business analyses, data mining, strategy development and valuations with more than 24-year experience. His experience stems from the participation and execution of the largest M&A / privatization deals in Bulgaria and the Balkan region. He has a comprehensive knowledge in advising utilities, telecoms, mining and hospitality and leisure companies. Christo Vanev holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia.

Petar Matakov
Group Financial Controller

Petar Matakov, Group Financial Controller, Petar has 11+ years of strong hands-on experience in accounting, planning, forecasting and corporate finance in the sectors of automotive, energy and e-mobility. He has comprehensive knowledge in the field of IFRS/IAS reporting, risk valuations, financial analysis, and M&A. Mr. Matakov participated in various financial courses as ACCA and CFA. He has Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of National and World Economy and Master’s degree in accounting, control and corporate analysis from VUZF University program part of The University of Sheffield.

Anastasia Yaneva
Head of Project Financing

Anastasia features 15+ years of expertise in project finance, bank financing and loan restructuring. Main areas of expertise include structuring appropriate financing terms for large scale transactions in real estate, energy, leisure & tourism and healthcare. During her long-term career with one of Bulgaria’s leading banks, Anastasia worked on various landmark development projects and M&A transactions in Bulgaria. She holds a Masters’ degree in Macroeconomics from Sofia University and has spent several years as a teaching assistant at the same university.

Andrey Genev
Investment Manager

A seasoned finance professional with 25+ years of expertise in SME and Corporate banking in Bulgaria. Andrey’s career has been mostly in SME and Corporate lending with BNP-Paribas, BACB, UBB and Tokuda Bank. Andrey was member of the Management Board of Bulgarian Development Bank. He holds a Masters’ degree in Finance from University of National and World Economy, Sofia and was a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Branimira Popova
Legal Adviser

An English law qualified solicitor and Bulgarian jurist with wide-ranging legal experience in the banking, project finance and asset finance practices. Main areas of expertise include acquisition finance, real estate finance, export finance, with experience in aircraft finance and shipping transactions. During the 4 years spent at both the London and Moscow offices of one of the leading Magic Circle law firms, she gained experience with some of UK’s and Russia’s leading banks, real estate developers and leasing companies. She is currently working in the renewable energy sector in Eastern Europe with an emphasis on M&A and financing transactions. She holds a Masters’ degree in Law from Plovdiv University as well as a master’s Degree in Corporate Law from Cambridge University and a Master’s Degree in Law from BPP University.

Laszlo Modos
Head of Group Developmend and Country Manager Hungary

Laszlo Modos is an experienced leader in the energy and finance sectors, currently serving as the Country Manager for Renalfa Hungary Kft since 2020, while also overseeing development on a group level. With a strong background in finance, Laszlo's career includes serving as Deputy CEO of MAVIR Zrt from January 2018 to December 2019, where he was responsible for Finance and IT. Prior to that, he held various senior finance roles at MAVIR Zrt, including Chief Financial Officer (2015-2017) and Head of Finance (2012-2015). Before joining MAVIR Zrt, Laszlo gained significant experience in corporate and project finance, working at Raiffeisen Bank from 2003 to 2012, where he progressed from Relationship Manager to Branch Manager, overseeing corporate finance, project finance, and retail banking operations. His expertise in both finance and energy development positions him as a key figure in Hungary's energy and financial sectors.
